Before you hit the gym and find yourself horribly intimidated by the users who all seem to know what they are doing and confused by all the machines, I suggest you do your research via the world wide web.

I am a regular gym goer, having first started out with a personal trainer and now have graduated to doing my own thing. The beginning was bewildering,;different machines and techniques, trying to remember everything....

Trust me, I know where you are at. So start with learning about proper nutrition and fat loss techniques. Look at different websites. Familiarise yourself with the various techniques, terms and equipment. If you know somebody at the gym to show you the ropes, good. If not, you may need the help of a trainer to guide you.

It is a small investment because that will build you a foundation of the proper technique and form. A month or two should be sufficient grounding. After that, you can look for ideas from YouTube. The best gym equipment to lose weight is the stationary bike.

For best results , try this routine:

Use the Tabata Protocol of 20secs fast and 10 secs, for up to 20 min. Follow that with 30 min of free weights cables and core excercises. End with a round of bike for another 5 minutes. Warm down with stretches.
